Panzica does. We have practiced architect-led Design-Build (now known as Integrated Project Delivery or IPD) since the 1960s. No other architect-builder firm in the region has Panzica’s proven track record and depth of IPD experience. In the past decade the American Institute of Architects (AIA) has embraced IPD as a practice concept [1] and since then the delivery method has gained rapidly widening acceptance as a preferred project delivery method. Having essentially provided IPD for six decades, Panzica was truly ahead of our time. IPD is a building delivery process that aligns interests, objectives and practices through a team approach, in which all prime disciplines in a building project are performed within one firm. This enables faster delivery, lowers costs and avoids litigation while creating a more enjoyable process for the building owner. Essential team members are the owner, the architect, key technical consultants, the prime constructor and key subcontractors. The IPD method combines ideas of integrated architectural practice with lean construction, streamlining communication while reducing or eliminating inefficiency and waste, time overruns, quality issues and conflicts among key stakeholders. Building Information Modeling (BIM) and online collaboration tools enable constant information-sharing among IPD project participants, increasing productivity and enhancing value throughout the building process. How is IPD Distinguished From Design-Build? Design-Build (as differentiated from traditional Design-Bid-Build and other delivery methods) has been proved by university research to provide lower costs and better outcomes for the building owner [2]. Design-Build delivery as typically practiced places a general contractor in the leading project role. IPD represents a return to the classical “Master Builder” concept in which an expert architect-builder leads a collaborative team through the construction process. Built on Trust

Congratulations to Matilda Castren, Sophia Popov, and Team Europe on their win at The Solheim Cup! While we love to root for Team USA, we're excited to see these women take the win. ⛳

A special congratulations to Matilda for sinking the winning putt, securing victory for Team Europe! Some of Panzica's own were at The Solheim to support both teams and can be seen in the background of this photo cheering for Matilda's winning putt!

Big things are happening At The Cascade! Navarre Hospitality Group and Kurt Janowsky are bringing something new to the banks of the St. Joe River with Cascade Restaurant, and we can't wait to see it flourish! Congratulations Kurt!

Janowsky wants the new restaurant to be the "crowning jewel" of what downtown has to offer

Congratulations to Matilda Castren and Sophia Popov on being selected in The Solheim Cup representing Europe! 🎉 Both women have been participants in the Symetra Tour, playing the Four Winds Invitational in South Bend and taking part in the many events during the invitational that support Beacon Children's Hospital. Best wishes to these women as they compete Labor Day weekend! ⛳

Thanks to Crumlish & Crumlish Architects for taking us back in time and sharing one of the early designs to come from Panzica. Designed by company founder Anthony Panzica, the "Nine-Nineteen Building" uses asymmetry, varying textures and materials to create interest and achieve dynamic tension on an otherwise boxy developer building planned for use as medical offices. There's also some beautiful tile work from another long-time South Bend company, Art Mosaic & Tile.

Congratulations to Matilda Castren on becoming the first Finnish winner in LPGA Tour history Sunday! Matilda won the LPGA MEDIHEAL Championship, beating out Min Lee by two strokes. Matilda is a good friend of the Panzica family and has been a player on the Symetra Tour at the Four Winds Invitational supporting Beacon Children's Hospital. We wish continued success to Matilda as she rises through the ranks of the LPGA. ⛳️
