What’s an Ice Dam?
An ice dam is a large chunk of ice that forms along gutters and in valleys of roofs. If not taken care of, ice dams can lead to extensive water damage and in some instances, total roof failure.

In order to ensure that ice dams do not form, roofs should either be shoveled or snow removed with a special roof rake. This can however be quite dangerous for homeowners without experience.
