At it again in Wells, Maine.

This home is on the market and had already taken a price reduction. The roof still needed to be addressed, and the seller did not want it becoming another negotiation point, buyer concession, or reason for the sale to be delayed.

We moved quickly, got everything in order, and placed the project on the schedule as soon as possible so the seller could protect the value of the property during the sale.

By the end of today, this home will have a brand-new roof. The seller gets one less uncertainty, and the next owner should not have to think about the roof again for the rest of their time in the home.

Some homes should never receive a one-size-fits-all roofing quote.

We recently had the opportunity to evaluate this weathered cedar roof on a remarkable Maine home. The roof is a major part of the architecture, so the question isn’t simply what can replace it. It’s how to preserve the character of the house while building a system that will perform through decades of Maine weather.

On a roof like this, the details matter: multiple rooflines, natural cedar, copper valleys and flashing, a cupola, chimney connections, low-slope sections, and several places where different sections meet.
