Happy Pride plant lovers! We're taking this moment to encourage our community to support MaineTransNet. "MaineTransNet is a community based organization led by transgender people for transgender people. We provide peer-to-peer support groups, social and community events, advocacy for the transgender community across Maine, and training for medical, mental health, and social service providers. We engage transgender people and our allies across Maine in the practice of community building and organizing for mutual liberation. Our work is rooted in a deep desire to care for one another which informs how we build systems of mutual support centering accessibility, inclusivity, and hospitality; we view structures of power and oppression as interlocking.. " ❤️

Cheers to this cutie… annnnd a three-day weekend!
The crew will have some much deserved time to slow down a bit, put their feet up, and enjoy some quality time with their own gardens. Hope you all have moments to find some joy and rest as well.

A flagstone and thyme path, 2nd season in. Lush, fragrant, and filling in just as intended. Nature's sweet reminder, that when given time and encouragement, things really can thrive!

Replacing front lawns with gardens? Yessss, please.
Last fall, we laid down layers of sheet mulch and let nature do the heavy lifting over the winter for us...smothering the sod, suppressing weeds, and building the soil all at the same time.
The garden is now ready for its new plant friends, and we can’t wait to watch how they grow into their new home.
The best results sometimes come from slowing down and trusting the process.

In landscaping, we talk a lot about nurturing growth by encouraging healthy soil, strong roots, biodiversity, and protected spaces (especially for our young plantings).
Those ideas reach beyond the edge of our gardens.
In this new season, there is a reminder for us:
Care encourages health, resilience, and growth.. not only in our landscapes, but within our communities as well.
Care is not passive, it is an active, daily choice. A practice of attention.
I keep hearing Mary Oliver's words as i write this... "Attention is the beginning of devotion "
Where we put our attention matters and devotion asks something of us.
When there are systems that are designed to oppress, divide, and harm... chose to care. Being intentional with our work, voices, and our love is a form of resistance.
Here’s to tending to the landscape this spring, and applying the same philosophy to envision and create a world where all living things feel cared for and safe enough to thrive.

From monarch-loving clusters of milkweed, to the airy height of Queen of the Prairie, and the textured plumes of astilbe... pink in the garden isn’t just a color, it’s about a feeling.

Happy February friends 💝 With a month that calls for a little extra love we’re organizing a mini fundraiser + supply drive to support , a local organization going above and beyond to support our neighbors right now.
We’re offering FREE pickup of donated items this Saturday & Sunday, Feb 7th–8th
If you’ve been looking for a tangible way to help, please consider joining us in this.
Items needed include:
Household Basics
• All-purpose spray
• Toilet bowl cleaner
• Dish soap + sponges
• Trash bags
• Hand soap
• Toilet paper
• Paper towels
Hygiene Supplies
• Body soap
• Body lotion
• Shampoo + conditioner
• Toothpaste + toothbrushes
• Deodorant
• Menstrual pads
Baby Essentials
• Baby wipes
• Diapers
We can also accept Gift Cards / Grocery store gift cards to pass along

If you’d like to donate and have items picked up, DM us or email us and we’ll coordinate. We ask that donations are placed in reusable grocery bags or boxes for easy transport and that pick up locations are in the Greater Portland area (South Portland, Portland, Scarborough, Cape Elizabeth, Falmouth, Yarmouth, Westbrook, and Gorham)
