It's photo time! Folks ask me what gear i use for taking "real" portfolio shots (not photos taken with my cell phone), so here are some shots (taken with my cell phone 😀) of my gear. There is so much amazing photographic gear out there, and you certainly dont need to spend a fortune to achieve similar results. I invested in Canon gear and a myriad of lenses for my wildlife photo work, but for our garden work, here are my go-to choices. In reality, i mostly use my 24-105mm lens. For close up/macro shots of plants I use my 100mm lens. I always set my camera to AV mode (aperture priority), this gives me greater control over depth of field.

Fava Beans can be a little work but so worth it! My first crop (with alot more to come)! I decided to make a fresh Fava Bean mash with a couple cloves of garlic, Jalapeño, Cumin and fresh tomato and juice of one lemon, mashed with the cooked Fava Beans....spread on fresh Sourdough. Not bad!!
