A first impression that says it all. This new residence was designed to live in quiet harmony with its site — where natural warmth meets modern restraint and every detail draws you toward the Bay. Cedar siding, concrete steps, and lush flanking planters set the tone for a home that feels grounded, intentional, and effortless. This is architecture and landscape speaking the same language.

First impressions, elevated. The entry sequence at this Atherton residence sets the tone for a landscape renovation that bridges past and present — travertine hardscape, a sculptural door surround, and handrail detailing carried seamlessly from interior to exterior.

Flip-up kitchen window and outdoor bar. Surf's up, bar's open. This motorized flip-up window transforms the kitchen into an instant outdoor bar, connecting seamlessly to the rear deck of this Stinson Beach retreat. This is coastal living done exactly right.

When the sun goes down, this garden comes alive. String lights stretch across a canopy of mature eucalyptus, casting a warm golden glow over hammock swings, lush planting beds, and a sweeping lawn that seems to go on forever.

We were proud to contribute to this Sunset Magazine Western Home & Design Awards in collaboration with .

For this waterfront retreat, our work focused on connecting the architecture to its coastal surroundings and extending the home's indoor-outdoor vision into a fully realized landscape. A hot tub, fire pit, lounge area, and surfside shower complete the experience, creating an outdoor environment as intentional as the home itself.

What began as a nondescript 1950s residence has been thoughtfully transformed into a serene indoor–outdoor retreat. Clean-lined terraces, layered greenery, and soft landscape lighting set a calm, contemporary tone, while expansive new windows and folding doors fluidly connect the kitchen, patio, and garden. Designed for effortless gathering, quiet unwinding, and lingering in San Francisco’s golden hour.
