Good thing we caught this one. 🐿️

While working on another job at the property, we noticed a significant amount of heat and exhaust backdrafting into the basement from the water heater vent.

We took the venting apart to investigate and found the problem — a squirrel had gotten into the exhaust and completely blocked it.

We removed the blockage, cleaned everything out, reassembled the venting, and made sure it was exhausting properly again.

This is why paying attention to the little things matters. A blocked exhaust can allow dangerous combustion gases, including carbon monoxide, to spill back into the home.

I get asked all the time, “What type of oil tank should we be installing?”

For me, the answer is simple: double-wall tanks are the best option today.

Especially with the biofuel blends being used in heating oil, I recommend going with a modern double-wall tank when it’s time for replacement.

Emergency A/C swap-out! ❄️🔧

We received a call for a system that needed to be replaced, and our priority was getting the customer back up and running as quickly as possible.

New system is installed and cooling! We’re currently using a temporary filter setup and will be returning to complete the new return ductwork.

Sometimes the job isn’t completely finished before the comfort needs to come back on — and that’s exactly what we made happen here.

Another one wrapped up! 🔥

Out with the old and in with the new. We replaced this older oil boiler with a new Velocity boiler and gave the heating system a much-needed upgrade.

New boiler, piping, controls and circulators — all installed and ready for the upcoming heating season.

It may still be summer, but now is the time to make sure your heating system is ready before the cold weather gets here!
