We’re not part of any franchise, we’re your neighborly electrical team, built right here in Southern Pines. Our focus is honest work, clear communication, and dependable service for our local families and businesses.

⚡🎄✨ Holiday PSA from Sparkies of the Pines ✨🎄⚡

This is something I’ve helped several people with just this past week, and it comes up every Halloween and Christmas. The call I always get: “My exterior receptacles aren’t working.”
If your home was built after 1996, your exterior receptacles should be GFCI protected. Typically, this is done with a GFCI receptacle at the first outlet on the circuit—often located in the garage, but it could be at any outside outlets. If that GFCI trips, none of the outlets on the circuit will work.
Holiday string lights and powered decorations often have open, exposed outlets and connections. When these get wet from rain, irrigation, or our lovely humidity, they can cause the GFCI to trip.
✅ Most of the time, simply allowing things to dry out and then resetting the GFCI will solve the problem.
⚠️ If it does not, it may be time to get some assistance with further troubleshooting.
