Love gardening and hate gatekeeping? This one's for you. I am so excited to present my new talk, Secret Weapons of a Professional Gardener.

After 8 years in the garden full-time, I've got a couple tricks, tips and tools up my sleeve. In this new talk I share my favorite plants, trusted techniques, and insider resources.

I was so excited to present my new talk "Secret Weapons of a Professional Gardener: Tricks, Tools and Techniques for Sucessful Gardens" to the Master Gardener Society of Oakland County, Michigan this evening.

After working on it all winter, I was confident that sharing my favorite tools, insider resources and best practices would be really interesting and helpful information.

Unfortunately, an MGSOC board member called me yesterday, the day before my talk, and told me I was not welcome.

My presentation has been on their calendar for over a year, and I've put a lot of work into it.

If you saw me present at the Troy Garden Club last year, you know I put my whole heart into sharing what I've learned.

I'm hurt & disappointed, but I also have an excellent talk ready to go!

If you know of a gardening club, library or any other group of people that would be interested in learning the tricks of the gardening trade, I'm there!

When I called to check on my bulb shipment from New York, a guy with a strong Dutch accent answered the phone - turns out he's the head honcho of A.D.R Bulbs, Walter Ruigrok. Or he was the head honcho until his son took over, making it a 4th generation business.

We ended up talking for 10 minutes about his 50 years in the bulb business, my favorite bulbs, his 6 acre garden and my tiny company. WHAT A TREAT!

I love, need and protect my alone time, but when it comes down to it -- it's human connection that motivates and excites me. I am now feeling really inspired to plow through my to-do list and get this bulb season underway!

Picture is my client's house where we planted 'Tahiti' and 'Fortune' daffodils. They are both reliable naturalizers and will provide a beautiful display for many years to come.
