Not every build starts with a dream.

Some start with a nightmare. 💔

This week we sat down with Kathy and Rob as we began designing their replacement home after losing their previous home to a neighboring natural gas explosion and the fire that followed.

During their design meeting, something subtle happened.

For the first time, we could see them beginning to look beyond what was lost and toward what could be built. 💛

Their story is just beginning, and it’s one we’re honored to help tell.

The Woods’ story takes courage to look at. It carries pain, loss, uncertainty, and the kind of heartbreak that reminds us it could happen to any one of us.

But it’s also a reminder of what “building a home” truly means.

At Landmark, we don’t believe our job is simply to build houses. We believe our responsibility is to help carry people through one of the most significant chapters of their lives until they’re home again.

To say we’re excited about this project would be a massive understatement.

Today we wrapped up a 4-hour onboarding session with Nino, and we left feeling energized, inspired, and grateful for the opportunity ahead.

The home itself will be beautiful, but what we’re really looking forward to is the journey. Every custom home starts with a vision, and one of our favorite parts of the process is helping bring that vision into focus—one conversation, one decision, and one milestone at a time.

Thank you, Nino, for trusting us to help guide the process. We can’t wait to see what’s built over the months ahead.

Customizing homes to fit a homeowner's life is one of our favorite parts of the building process.

For this custom home, it was a built-in buffet and bookshelf designed to showcase the homeowners' book collection while bringing a touch of mid-century character into their home.

The deep blue cabinetry, warm wood tones, and arched details came together beautifully.

Functional, personal, and full of character—just the way custom spaces should be. 💙
