We didn’t take the footprint of this kitchen too far off from what it was originally. We added an entire bar area and took out a small awkward pantry to do that.

However, in this space we opted to go with a slightly smaller fridge, 33” vs. 36” to gain a little more functional cabinetry to the left of the range. It doesn’t seem like much but every sliver of space in a smaller kitchen is needed for functionality including proper landing spaces.
