Getting drawers to sit flush and slide smooth is trickier than it looks. A quarter inch off anywhere and the whole frame racks. The runners need to be dead level, the tolerances tight enough that nothing binds.

Most DIY drawer builds work fine until you load them. Then the weight shows every mistake.
