Did you ever play or compete in the Vaughn Middle School gym?

On Saturday, our Q&D demo crews dismantled one of the most recognizable pieces of the old Vaughn campus — the iconic gym where thousands of Washoe County students practiced, competed, and built life-long memories.

As part of the $125 million Vaughn Middle School replacement project, Q&D is handling demolition of the former campus so the site can make way for new athletic fields, parking, recreation areas and other amenities next to the brand‑new school.

The gym may be coming down, but the next chapter is already taking shape. Modern learning spaces are open, and new outdoor facilities will follow as work continues into 2027.

It’s demolition with a purpose — clearing the way for the future while honoring a place that meant something to generations of Washoe County School District student‑athletes.

4,300 acres. One massive vision for Fernley.

The Victory Logistics District is taking shape—and Q&D Construction crews are helping build the infrastructure that will support what comes next.

This week, our crews were busy across the massive Mark IV Capital development, pouring a new concrete headwall, grading Phase 2 and installing sewer pipe.

From large-scale grading and pad preparation to stormwater systems, underground utilities and other critical infrastructure, Q&D is helping transform thousands of acres of Nevada desert into the foundation for future industrial development.

Q&D Construction crews were putting in the work Friday at Reno-Stead Airport, where we're helping improve the airfield's infrastructure as part of the Taxiway Alpha & Aircraft Apron Reconstruction project. Current work includes storm drain improvements along the taxiway and aircraft apron, an important piece of keeping the airfield's drainage system functioning safely and efficiently.

The project, being performed for the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, also includes pavement reconstruction, taxiway lighting, electrical improvements and airfield striping. It's another example of the critical infrastructure work Q&D crews perform behind the scenes to keep Northern Nevada's airports safe, reliable and ready for continued growth.

What a great event on the Virginia Street Bridge. Building the bridge is an accomplishment that makes us proud to this day. It' one of the most iconic jobs in the 60+ history of our company.

🍔 Good food. Good company. Good cause.

There’s a lot that goes into a Q&D Employee Charity BBQ — somebody’s got to fire up the grill, somebody’s got to keep the lunch line moving, and somebody’s got to make sure there are enough burgers left for the people still coming through. 😎

Today, Q&D employees did all three at our third charity BBQ of 2026. The company provides the food, employees make a donation for lunch, and every dollar raised goes toward supporting our 2026 charities: Adopt-A-Vet Dental, Trauma Intervention Program and Moxy Up Mentoring.

So yes, we’re More Than Moving Dirt. Sometimes, we’re moving burgers, too. 🍔🔥

There’s a lot taking shape at Edgewood Tahoe—and Q&D Construction has been there for much of the heavy lifting.

Q&D crews handled significant Phase 1 demolition work at the historic Edgewood Tahoe clubhouse and have played a major role in the exterior concrete work for the ongoing renovation and expansion, including new ballroom walls, staircases, patios and more.

On Tuesday, our crews were pouring concrete for new stairs and landings that will help connect the expanded spaces while adding to the resort’s iconic setting along the shores of Lake Tahoe.

The multi-phase project is transforming and expanding Edgewood’s longtime clubhouse, adding new event and dining spaces while modernizing the existing facility—all while maintaining the distinctive Tahoe character that has made Edgewood a destination for decades.

Another day of putting our people, equipment and expertise to work in one of the West’s most spectacular settings. 🦺🏗️🏔️

There’s a whole lot happening at Reno-Tahoe International Airport these days — and last Friday was no exception.

As part of the airport’s $650 million New Gen A&B Concourses project, Q&D Construction crews were hard at work preparing the site for the new Concourse A. Some of our team was grading in preparation for a future tarmac concrete replacement, while others were pouring red concrete encasement around an underground electrical duct bank.

Wondering about the red concrete? It’s more than just a splash of color. The red coloration identifies buried electrical infrastructure, helping crews and future maintenance teams know exactly what lies below the surface.

The new concourses are the centerpiece of the airport’s MoreRNO program and will nearly double the size of RNO’s existing concourses. Q&D is proud to serve as a contractor on this major piece of the airport’s transformation.

And Concourse A is just one piece of the construction activity underway at RNO. The Ground Transportation Center, Central Utility Plant and new Police & Airport Authority Headquarters are also moving forward as part of the airport’s largest infrastructure investment in history.

From the ground up, the future of RNO is taking shape.

Q&D Construction got more good news on the awards front. Engineering News-Record released its 2026 Mountain States Best Projects Awards List and featured prominently is Q&D, winning the top prize for best Aviation/Transit Project. Q&D's Aviation Department earned the honor for its work on the Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport, Terminal Expansion, located in Rock Springs.

Making Room for What’s Next

A new school year has begun at a brand-new Vaughn Middle School, and Q&D Construction is helping make room for the next chapter. 🏗️

As a subcontractor to Clark/Sullivan Construction, Q&D is handling demolition of the former Vaughn Middle School for the Washoe County School District.

The $125 million Vaughn replacement project began construction in June 2024, with the new three-story school completed in time to welcome students for the 2026–27 school year. The project represents one of WCSD’s largest investments in a new school facility, creating modern learning spaces for the next generation of Vaughn students.

Now, the next phase is underway. Once the old school is cleared, the site will make way for new athletic fields, parking, recreation areas and other amenities adjacent to the new campus. That work is scheduled to continue into 2027.

It’s demolition with a purpose—and another example of Q&D helping build the future of our community. 🧡
