Rehak’s Contracting, LLC is a family owned and operated Maryland Small Business, established by Jim Rehak in 1978. Our first 15 years were spent primarily in the residential and commercial Marina market. During these years we built literally miles of bulkheads and piers, stone shoreline protection and floating Docks that we manufactured in house. One floating dock we built in Ocean Pines MD in 199
8 would be 2.2 miles long if all of the components were lined up end to end. This dock has survived 5 named storms, including Floyd, Isabel and Sandy. In 1998 we expanded our client base with an opportunity to work for the Department of Defense at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. Our first project at APG was a pier built in support of a remedial action project. Since that time we also constructed miles of design/build shoreline protection at APG, where environmentally friendly shoreline protection was the objective. Using a number of innovative designs and construction methods from both barge and land, we were able to accomplish this goal. A combination of stone revetments, off shore sills, durable beaches, terminal groins, beach nourishments and marsh creation/plantings were used with very desirable results. We have a video of the design, oversight and construction located on our site. We also have photos of the projects current condition illustrating the project’s success. Our company has completed many Federal, State and Local Government projects including; target ranges, wetland creation/restoration projects, ponds, site work, utilities, road building, State/Local Government boat ramps, dredging, steel piling/steel sheet piling, dredging and General Marine construction. Our employees are our best asset. We have experienced, safety conscience, hard working men and women with very high mechanical aptitudes and problem solving capabilities.
