The front yard is the first thing people see when they pull up to your home. Clean bed edges, healthy plantings, and a welcoming walkway go a long way toward making the property feel cared for from the street.

You don't need a long list of features to get there. A handful of details done well is usually enough.

As we reach the tail-end of spring, outdoor spaces start to fall into the rhythm of the season. The patio is where you have coffee in the morning, and evening gathering with friends and family.
This is a good time to notice what's working and what isn't. Maybe a seating area feels too small once everyone is outside, or a pathway gets more foot traffic than expected. These small observations often point to opportunities for thoughtful improvements down the road.

Long-term client relationships mean a lot to our team. When someone trusts us with their landscape across multiple projects and several years, it gives us the chance to understand their property deeply and help it evolve over time.

Thank you, Jessica, for seven years of trust and for taking the time to share such kind words.

Spring/Summer Landscaping Tip:

When mowing in warmer weather, raise your mower blade slightly. Taller grass shades the soil and helps it retain moisture, which encourages deeper root growth and stronger performance through stretches of heat and dry weather.

This small adjustment makes a noticeable difference as temperatures rise.

Drainage is one of the most overlooked parts of a landscape until something goes wrong. If you notice water pooling near the foundation after heavy rain, or mulch consistently washing out of beds, it's worth taking a closer look at how water is moving through your yard.

Spring and early summer are good times to pay attention to drainage patterns. Catching small issues now is much easier than addressing damage later in the season.

A well-designed backyard works hard without feeling like it. Gathering areas flow naturally into each other. Pathways guide movement without effort, and planting beds frame the space intentionally.

When the layout supports how you live, the yard becomes a place where you spend time every chance you get.

Now that temperatures are warming, early morning is the best time to water your lawn and plant beds. Watering before the heat of the day allows moisture to soak into the soil and reach the roots, rather than evaporating in the sun.

Deep, less frequent watering also encourages stronger root systems, helping plants stay healthier through the warmer months ahead.

Outdoor lighting changes how the landscape feels after dark. Pathway lights guide movement safely. Uplighting highlights trees and architectural features. Soft accent lighting around patios and gathering areas extends the hours you can comfortably spend outside.

As evenings grow longer and warmer, thoughtful lighting can make outdoor spaces feel just as inviting at night as they do during the day.

Mid-May is when outdoor spaces really start to come alive. Planting beds are filling in, lawns are establishing, and the longer days invite more time spent outside.

It's also a good time to notice how your landscape is performing. Are walkways and gathering areas working the way you'd like? Is water moving through the yard properly after spring rain?
Catching these things early leaves room for thoughtful improvements before summer is in full swing.
