As I complete my final bill review meetings as Governor, I am filled with a deep sense of gratitude. The process has meant weighing each bill with care and intention, thinking of the families, communities, and future generations who will be impacted. What a privilege this responsibility has been.

The team I am closing this session with is the picture of heart and dedication. This staff has devoted countless hours to reading, analyzing, and debating every bill with me, often working late into the night and arriving to the Capitol again before sunrise. They maintained integrity and a shared desire to get it right.

I am honored to have worked on behalf of Oklahomans with such an incredible team surrounding me throughout the past 8 sessions.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
SEPTEMBER 11, 2025

CLAYTON, OK - On September 11, 2025, the Pushmataha County Sheriff's Office requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to investigate a double homicide.

Earlier that evening, deputies responded to a welfare check at a residence along State Highway 43 in Clayton. When deputies arrived on scene, they located an elderly male and female deceased. It was determined they both suffered injuries consistent with homicide.

Based on the information and evidence obtained, the two victims’ son, identified as 35-year-old Jeffery Scott Baker, is a person of interest at this time. Baker is believed to be driving the victims’ vehicle, a gray 2013 Dodge Caravan. License plate number is MPU 474.

Baker is considered to be armed and dangerous and is believed to still be in the Pushmataha or LeFlore County area.
