🌲 Out here doing what we do best—turning problem trees into something manageable.

This pine came down and instead of leaving debris behind, we chipped it on-site to keep the property clean and healthy.

Why chipping matters 👇
✔️ Reduces fire fuel around your home
✔️ Helps prevent beetle spread in infested wood
✔️ Returns nutrients back into the soil
✔️ Keeps your property looking clean and usable

A lot of people don’t realize—leaving logs and slash on the ground (especially pine) can invite pests and increase fire risk as we head into a hotter, drier season.

We believe in doing it right the first time—clean, safe, and with your long-term property health in mind.

If you’ve got trees down, storm damage, or just want to get ahead of fire season, we’re here to help.

When this family had a tree crash onto their home, they needed help fast.

A few days ago we responded to the emergency and tarped the roof to protect the house from further damage. Today we returned to safely remove the tree piece by piece.

Jobs like this take precision, experience, and teamwork.

We’re grateful to work alongside Trailhead Tree Service, whose crane support helped us safely lift sections off the roof without causing additional damage.

Our goal is always the same:
✔ Protect the home
✔ Remove the hazard safely
✔ Help families get back to normal

If you ever have a tree emergency in Spokane, don’t wait.

Even the elk approve. 🫎🌲

When we remove trees, we often recommend chipping the debris instead of leaving piles of branches or logs on the ground.

Here’s why:

🌱 Moisture retention – Wood chips act like a sponge, helping soil hold moisture during our hot Inland Northwest summers.

🐞 Less beetle habitat – Fresh slash piles can attract bark beetles and other insects. Chipping breaks that cycle.

🌿 Natural w**d control – A layer of chips suppresses w**ds and reduces the need for herbicides.

🔥 Fire risk reduction – Smaller chips break down naturally instead of creating larger dry fuel piles.

🌳 Healthy soil – As chips decompose, they return nutrients back to the ground and feed beneficial soil life.
Dave Underwood thank you for the photo.

Even the elk seem to agree.

🔥 Snow drought = dry fuels.

With Quartz Mountain at just 27% snowpack, we’re likely heading into an early, dry fire season around Spokane.

If summer tracks anywhere close to 2018, defensible space around your home becomes critical.

Here’s what we’re already seeing:
• Dry ladder fuels
• Overcrowded tree lines
• Dead underbrush building up

🌲 Smart fire prevention includes:
• Removing deadwood
• Thinning overcrowded trees
• Clearing debris away from structures
• Properly spacing tree canopies

Fire mitigation isn’t fear-based — it’s smart property management.

If you live near wooded areas, acreage, or hillside property, now is the time to act — not mid-July.

Proactive work costs less than emergency work.

There’s something satisfying about building something that lasts. 🌲

At Living Forest Tree Service, we don’t just care for trees — we also build bow roof shed kits that are strong, beautiful, and incredibly versatile.

Our Bow Roof Shed Kits can be used for:
• Greenhouses
• Equipment storage
• Firewood shelter
• Garden sheds
• Covered workspace
• Animal shelter
• Or anything else you can dream up.

You can order the kit and build it yourself, or we can install it for you.

The curved design is not only beautiful — it’s also strong and sheds snow easily, making it perfect for the Inland Northwest.

If you’ve been thinking about adding a greenhouse or extra storage to your property, this might be the perfect solution.

Send us a message if you want to learn more or see upcoming builds.

In the Spokane area, we’re officially in a snow drought this year.

Quartz Mountain is sitting at 27% of normal snowpack — the lowest it’s been in years. With predictions pointing toward a hot summer similar to 2018, now is the time to think ahead about your trees.

🌲 What this means for your property:

• Drought-stressed trees are weaker
• Heat + heavy canopy = higher break risk
• Trimming in peak summer heat can shock trees

✅ The smart move? Early-season pruning.

Strategic trimming NOW:
• Reduces wind resistance
• Removes weak or dead limbs
• Improves airflow
• Lowers stress before extreme heat hits

Waiting until July or August? That can do more harm than good.

If you’re unsure whether your trees should be trimmed this season, we offer on-site assessments.

Don’t wait for heat damage — prepare before it starts.

Mother-nature always receives a voice and a vote.

Unfortunately due to the recent soaking rains and expected heavy winds throughout the Spokane area there’s going to be some trees in places we’d rather them not be.

Because of this, Dan with Living Forest Tree Service LLC & Doug with Contour Grading LLC will be providing our individual expertise as a team to expedite returning your property/life back to normal again.

If you find yourself in need of our services please feel free to reach out for a free site-visit/estimate.
