Most lawn services pull up, race across your yard in five minutes, and leave behind a temporary synthetic spike that crashes the moment our Spokane heat sets in. At Red Moose, our Premier Lawn Fertilization and W**d Control is engineered completely differently for the Inland Northwest—focusing on organic-focused soil health and deep, heat-resistant root development rather than quick surface fixes. We don't rush your property; our dedicated team takes the time needed for precision applications and backs it up with structured, proactive follow-up inspections to ensure your estate stays resort-level green all season long. Water features add that ultimate layer of luxury to a landscape, but only when they're running flawlessly. This week, the Red Moose teams paid extra attention to the details—clearing debris, checking balances, and ensuring every waterfall and fountain is sparkling clean for your holiday gatherings.

To all of our incredible clients in Spokane and Coeur d'Alene, have a safe, relaxing, and beautiful Memorial Day weekend! 🇺🇸✨

Before we head out, we do a full lap of the property. We’re looking for that one leaf out of place or an angle that isn't quite sharp enough. Perfectly shaped shrubs are a choice, and we choose to be obsessed with the results. ✨

It’s often the smallest steps that make the biggest difference in how a property actually looks and feels.

When we apply fertilizer, our job isn't finished until the blower comes out. We make it a point to clear every sidewalk, patio, and driveway of stray granules before we head out.

Why it matters:

Preventing Stains: Many high-quality fertilizers contain iron or other minerals that can cause permanent rust spots or "pitting" on pavers and concrete if they are left to sit and get wet.

Water Quality: Keeping granules off hard surfaces prevents them from washing into storm drains during the next rain, which helps protect our local waterways.

A Finished Look: A healthy lawn looks best when it’s framed by clean, debris-free walkways.

We believe that professional service should leave your home looking better than we found it—not just the grass, but the entire landscape.

Spring Irrigation: It’s about more than just 'on' and 'off.' 💧

Before you fully commit to your watering schedule for the season, do a quick 'zone walk.' Our sandy soils in Spokane and the Coeur d'Alene area can cause water to move quickly, often leaving dry spots even if the clock says you're watering enough.

Look for these 3 things this week:

Clogged Nozzles: Winter debris often finds its way into heads.

Head Alignment: Make sure you’re watering the grass, not the driveway.

Leaky Valves: Check for 'swampy' spots near your valve boxes that indicate a seal might have failed over the winter.

A little bit of auditing now prevents a lot of brown spots in July!

Homeowner Tip: Protect Your Home from the Outside In 🛡️🐜
The best way to keep pests out of your kitchen is to stop them in your landscape! Most "indoor" pest problems actually start because of small maintenance gaps outside.

Here are 3 quick ways to lower the "pest pressure" on your home:

The 12-Inch Rule: Trim all shrubs and tree limbs so they are at least a foot away from your siding. This removes the "green bridge" that ants and spiders use to climb onto your house.

Watch the Water: Check your irrigation heads! Constant overspray against your foundation or saturated flower beds are huge attractants for earwigs and wood-destroying insects.

The "Pencil Rule": If a pencil can fit through a gap near a window or where a pipe enters your siding, a mouse can too. Seal those small openings with exterior caulk or steel wool.

Pro-Tip: A "Perimeter Defense" approach—focusing strictly on the exterior foundation and eaves—is the most effective way to keep your living spaces clean without ever needing to spray chemicals inside your home.

Take a walk around your property this weekend and look for these "entry points"—a little prevention goes a long way!

Stop Playing "Project Manager" with Your Own Yard

Managing a high-end property shouldn't feel like a second job. If you’re tired of chasing down different contractors for mowing, sprinkler repairs, pruning, cleanups and w**ding—only to end up with a landscape that still looks "average"—there is a better way.

Our Complete Care program solves the frustration of fragmented service by placing a dedicated team of estate managers on your property every single week.

The Red Moose Solution:

One Call, Total Accountability: We eliminate the stress of coordinating multiple companies. We handle everything—precision mowing, pruning, irrigation, plant health, pest control, water feature maintenance, cleanups and soil health—under one high standard.

Proactive over Reactive: Stop waiting for things to turn brown before they get fixed. Our weekly presence means we catch irrigation leaks or plant stress before you ever notice them.

From "Yard" to "Private Retreat": We shift the focus from basic maintenance to total ecosystem health, ensuring your property maintains that lush, resort-level vibrancy all season long.

Shout out to John our Irrigation Expert! 📣

"Just had tech John complete the preseason start-up of our water feature and as always he is a pleasure to interact with as he easily shares his expertise in his craft AND positivity in living a God loving life, which resonates with me. After the initial winterization of our water feature last fall, John believed he could do even better so he choose a different tact in how to drain and pump out the off-season seepage which left zero residual muddy aftermath this time. I like techs whom are thinkers and doers. I'll see ya in the fall, joyful John!"

Thank you for the Google Review! We are so grateful for all of our clients!

🛡️ The Best Way to Fight W**ds is to Never See Them!

When it comes to a flawless landscape, the most important work happens before a single w**d even breaks the surface.

The Myth ❎: You should wait until you see w**ds to start treating your beds.
The Reality✅: By the time you see a w**d, it’s already competing with your plants for nutrients and water.

The Power of Pre-Emergent: Think of pre-emergent as an invisible shield for your soil. It stops w**d seeds from germinating in the first place. For our Inland Northwest climate, timing this application is the single most important step in maintaining a meticulous, w**d-free landscape all season long.
