If anyone wants to know what dedication tword your craft and your clients looks like, I have you covered.

If restructuring decades old concreate steps along with a railing installation in low 40 temps isnt dedication for the safty of the residents, not sure what is.

Not an easy feat either. Been going at it for a couple days now. Of coarse concreate and cold weather arnt friends but it was the only time we could tackle it b4 snow comes.

Should have taken more "in progress" photos. But I have to say, I absolutely LOVED doing this project, even with the sacrifice of some blood, sweat, and tears.

SOOO much sanding. So much staining & buffering. A bit of painting (although that was the easy part. Lol). So much trial and error involved but my vision came together beautifully in the end! From flab to fab in a matter of weeks. And the best part?? The owners of this bench was absolutely floored by its transformation! Even talked about bringing it inside their home!

Took them a minute to figure the mixer out, but once they got into a rhythm it was "smooth sailing." .... Ok maybe not smooth sailing per say...the process still had some bumps along the way. Never can make things go perfectly smooth when your constantly having to fight the gravel and the soupy concrete mix. Lol

"Don't breathe that stuff!"

Word from the wise...Always wear a mask and eye protection when mixing concreate powder, gravel and water together. Don't be like Jeremy. LOL

This August we got to take our very first work trip to our friend's place in Greybull WY. Both Steve and Jeremy "slaved", for two days, in the heat breaking ground, hauling/leveling out gravel and mixing/pouring concreate. Both boys where amateurs at the whole concreate thing, but all in all, after many hours of hard labor, the end result turned out pretty good!

And just like the bar, the fireplace is getting a rustic makeover too!

Bonus: I took a trip to our local Habitat for Humanity store and scored these awesome tiles (for the landing) for $4.36. Now THAT is a fantastic bargain of a deal! Always love finding finds like this, especially when you know the person you're working for is on a budget! 😁

The bar area is coming along nicely!! with some natural rock backsplash, cleaned up mirrors & glass shelving and black electrical outlets...makes a world of difference. From Shab to Fab!! There is still more to do, but I'm so pleased on how it's turning out so far!

New lighting instalments in spots that are dismal and depressingly dark. Mischelle assisted Steve with this part of the job. The end result looked so good and inviting! 🥰

As the floor was continued to be put down, and smacked into position...I had the fortunate/unfortunate task of polishing up the foot poll for the bar's island. It was fortunate because I'm OCD, and I knew it desperately needed it. the unfortunate part was that I wasn't aware that the chemicals inside the brass polisher was going to burn the nose once it went into contact with the tarnish. Made one of Steve's old white t-shirts turn a shade of blueish black. LOL

This is the part where the magic really began to take shape. Starting with the bar's flooring, working our way outwards. It took a wile to really get into the rhythm of latching the vinal floorboards together because we never did a floor of this magnitude. Not by a long shot. It becomes a bit more of a challenge when the walls aren't built evenly so there was a big learning curve throughout the entire experience.

Steve's good friend Tom was amazing enough to come and take part in the flooring work, on top of tackling the woodwork for the stairs. Just like the basement's-stained up carpet, the staircase was just as bad.

After the living quarters had been fully painted a nice crisp white color (about 1 coat of primer and 2 coats of paint...detailing the dark spots with rollers and brushes), I spent my own personal time peeling out and re-calking all 4 windows and wrapping everything up in the bedroom area with painter's plastic. Not all windows were done in one day. I only did them when Steve was out doing other jobs. It wasn't on Mischelle's to do list, but whoever did the calking job, was less then ok. So, I wound up doing it for my own benefit. (I'm very detailed oriented and if past contractors did quick, sloppy jobs on their work...I will go in and try to make it look better.

Later on in the week, Steve wound up painting the bedroom walls before going in and ripping the remaining carpet out. (Never realized how much of a pain it was to slice and dice old carpet/carpet padding that's firmly glued to concreate flooring. I give my deepest respects to those who do that kind of work for a living. lol)
