San Diego kitchen managers: are your floor drains backing up?

At this recent commercial job, two floor drains backed up during testing. Our technician mechanically cleared the lines, repeated the water tests and ran several dishwasher cycles. Drainage was restored at completion.

Tub spout still dripping with the shower turned off? 💧

At this Carlsbad job, our technician found a faulty cartridge in an older Delta shower valve and significant calcium buildup. We cleaned the existing valve body, installed the correct replacement cartridge and checked the repair after water was restored. No leaks were observed during that check.

These are our original job photos: the removed cartridge, exposed valve body and replacement cartridge in place. The last photo shows work in progress before the trim was reinstalled.

That bend under your sink has a job: it holds a water seal.

An unused sink can lose that water through evaporation. Running water in a normally draining, rarely used sink may refill the trap. Stop if it backs up or leaks. A returning odor deserves an assessment; smell alone does not identify the cause.
