Do you see a line of missing cap shingles on a hip of that roof? That should not be like that...
What's impressive here is that you are looking at a newer built house, circa 2021...with a failed roof... How is it possible so soon? Unsure, but a poor installation is definitely at play here.....
Btw, in case you are wondering, ......... No, we did not install that roof. Or worked in this community for a builder. One day we will though. And we will build every roof as a Fortified certified roof.
Fortified roof means a roof is built with a much better quality and storm resistance than a regular one. So much so that insurance companies give homeowners a discount on their home insurance premiums! We heard around 22% - 28% off! That's a huge saving!
Bottom line, Fortified is a much better roof, just read about it.
And going back to the picture, a one good thing about this roof is that it's built with architectural type of shingle and not the 3 tab like some builders put on.... Those cheap new three tab roofs are not holding up to winds and storms too well. Older 3-tabs are alright but the new stuff....like paper... And we are down south. I guess anyone can be a builder and materials don't matter....
Anyways, tell that neighbor to give us a call to fix that mess on their roof, and to look into a fortified roof construction.
