Concrete is part of the job, but protecting the people who work with it is part of the job, too.

Wet concrete, grout, and cement dust can cause serious chemical burns. Wear your PPE every time: gloves, boots, long sleeves, long pants, and eye protection. If concrete touches your skin, wash it off promptly with plenty of clean water and remove contaminated clothing immediately. If your first aid kit has an approved pH-balanced rinse, use it as trained, but never delay the water. If it gets in your eyes, rinse for 15 minutes and get medical help.

Know the hazards. Use the right protection. We take care of the work and each other.

Another one in the books!

Our crews wrapped up a soil nail wall for the new H-E-B pharmacy in Frisco, TX. Close to 500 feet of wall holding back up to 12 feet of dirt so the building could go in, while threading the needle for existing utilities and planning nail locations for new ones.

Thanks to the crew for a safe, clean install, and to Hutchinson Construction, LLC , EMJ, and Braun Intertec for being great partners on this one.

Shallow rock is one of the biggest deciding factors between helical piles and micropiles. Helical piles need enough depth to reach their required torque — if rock is too shallow, they simply can't go through it. That's when micropiles come in play!
