OEG and Northside Electric opened their job sites to the NECA & IBEW 932 Safety Committee this month, and we loved what we saw: crews engaged, hazards addressed, and a real commitment to doing the work the right way.

These walks are about showing up, working together, and raising the bar across the board.

That's what a safety culture looks like. 🤝

In observance of Memorial Day, the Oregon Pacific-Cascade NECA Chapter office will be closed on Monday, May 25th.

This weekend, we pause to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is a lasting reminder of the freedoms we share and the gratitude we carry.

We wish our contractors, industry partners, and their families a safe Memorial Day weekend.

Today, we had the opportunity to participate in several safety walks, and see firsthand the incredible work being performed by our NECA contractors across our Crater Lake Division.

At the Pandemic Project in Central Point, the above-ground work is being performed by Pacific Electrical Contractors (PEC), and underground work is being performed by Welburn Electric.

We also visited a water treatment plant project in Grants Pass, where work is being performed by Pacific Electrical Contractors (PEC).

A sincere thank you to everyone who participated in today’s safety walks and to the contractors who made these visits possible. It is always impressive to see the quality work, professionalism, and strong commitment to safety happening on our jobsites every day.

We appreciate the dedication of all the crews, leaders, and partners helping build and power our communities safely and efficiently.

⚾ Baseball Night in Bend!

IBEW Local 280 & NECA are heading to the ballpark on Sunday, June 14, to watch the Bend Elks take on the Corvallis Knights at Vince Genna Stadium. First pitch is at 5 PM.

We'll have BBQ🍔, a party area 🎉, and plenty of good company👋. Bring the whole family and come hang with the Local 280 crew for a great summer evening.

What a day at the ballpark! On April 29, the 280 LMCC partnered with the Eugene Emeralds to host AVID Day, bringing students from 4J and Bethel School Districts out for a game and a chance to explore real career paths.

Between innings, students walked the career concourse, connecting with local colleges, community partners, and our team at the 280 LMCC booth. They learned firsthand that a union electrical apprenticeship is a debt-free path to a high-skill, high-opportunity career.

These are driven, motivated students already thinking about what comes next after graduation, and we wanted to make sure they know the IBEW 280 JATC is an option worth exploring!

Our annual NECA/IBEW LMCC Administrative Professionals Luncheons wrapped up across all three locals, and we couldn't be more grateful for the turnout. It was great to see so many familiar faces and to take a moment to celebrate the people who keep our shops and offices running every day.

Thank you to everyone who attended, helped spread the word, and made these events such a success. We appreciate you, and we'll see you next year!
