Vision.
I walked onto one of our projects today and noticed something that made me stop.
A lawn chair.
Sitting on an unfinished back porch, surrounded by exposed framing, overlooking the view this family will eventually have from the back of their home.
It made me smile.
Because to everyone else, this is still a construction site.
To them, it’s already home.
They can see the mornings sitting out here with a cup of coffee.
They can see the evenings watching the sun go down.
They can see their family enjoying this view for years to come.
And after all the time we’ve spent together in design, preconstruction, selections, budgeting, and planning, I realized something:
I see it too.
That may be one of my favorite parts of what we do.
Long before the finishes are installed and the furniture is moved in, our job is to understand the vision so clearly that we can see the finished home right alongside our clients.
Plans and budgets are important.
But ultimately, we’re building what that chair represents.
A place someone has imagined for years that is finally becoming real.
Today, they didn’t wait for move in day to enjoy it.
They just pulled up a chair.
