“Can I mow yet?” is one of the best questions to ask after seeding.

Watch the grass, not just the calendar. When new seedlings reach around 3 inches, it may be time for a careful first mow. Use a sharp blade, avoid making ruts in wet ground, and don’t give the new grass an extra-short haircut.

If your lawn was overseeded, keeping the seedbed consistently moist is a big part of giving new grass a chance to establish. Water gently, account for rainfall, and avoid puddles or runoff.

Follow the instructions we gave you for your yard, and message us if you’re unsure how to adjust for the weather.

The aeration holes and seed are the visible part of the job. What happens next matters, too: keeping the seedbed moist, giving seedlings room to grow, and mowing carefully once the new grass is ready.

Before the aerator comes through, we have one very important request: **please mark sprinkler heads and other hidden items in the lawn.** 🚩

Please also move hoses, toys, and yard décor out of the work area. We’re good at lawn care, but we’re not good at seeing through the ground.
