Stats time! We now stand at 1757 pounds of produce harvested in 2026, and a whopping 2218 combined visitors and volunteers for the year! In our 15th season in 2026, we will definitely set some records for both our engagements and the amount of produce we've raised. And we couldn't do it without you! Thank you!

You know we love a good dead lawn, especially when it's then replaced by something awesome like a prairie! Wild Ones offers a free webinar to go over the basics of converting your lawn to a functional prairie pocket.

Wild Ones: Native Plants, Natural Landscapes promotes environmentally sound landscaping practices to preserve biodiversity through the preservation, restoration and establishment of native plant communities.

Many thanks to the SIU med students who joined our regular core group of volunteers for this morning's harvest and garden work—heat advisory edition! We were quite warm and sweaty when we were done, but we did it! Our main garden work today was taking out spent garden plants. You can sure tell it's September. Bye bye collards, broccoli, cucumbers and a few tomatoes!

We'll be open 8-10 on both Thursday and Saturday for volunteering. Reminder, there is NO free farmers market for the rest of the season!

Due to the heat this week, we're going to meet 8-10 on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday for volunteering time. We will NOT have a free farmers market on Saturday as our last one was last week.

If you are looking for produce, our come and pick garden out front is available anytime. Otherwise, our volunteers get first pick of the harvest, and we'll donate to Kumler Outreach Ministries and the Breadline if we have a surplus.

Join us today from 9-11 for our gardening together time! The plan is to harvest for Kumler, then start removing some of our spent plants, like our cucumbers and brassicas. The weather is gorgeous! Let's enjoy it together outside!
