Eric has been our lead installer since 2002. Eric typically tackles all of the difficult installation challenges, helping Blackhawk Roofing construct safe and durable roofs. He also focuses on the repair of damaged areas of roofs. His responsibilities include:

Dan Schnell, Owner
After graduating from Glenbrook South High School in Glenview, Illinois, Dan attended the University of Wisconsin. In 1985 he relocated to Springfield, Illinois, and worked as a laborer for a brick mason, and an installer for a roofing company. Within a few years, Dan launched Blackhawk Roofing. Dan continues to maintain his status as a Master Roofer. With over 30 years of experience and roofing knowledge, Dan oversees the daily operations of his company. Dan is an authority in the field of roof installation, roof inspection, and residential or commercial roofing estimates. He takes every opportunity to expand his industry knowledge by participating in training seminars and continuing education courses in modern roofing systems, products, installation procedures, and business operations. Dan also encourages each employee to learn and grow in the roofing industry by offering incentives to expand their knowledge of the trade.

Robbie Nein, Foreman
Robbie has worked for Blackhawk Roofing since 2002 and is responsible for overseeing daily operations at a worksite to ensure the completion of projects in a safe and efficient manner. His duties include hiring roofing installers and laborers to perform specific tasks, monitoring budgeting expenses for all workers, managing supplies and equipment requirements, and reviewing laws and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.

With his industry experience and training, Robbie directs, supervises, and troubleshoots routine issues that occur on the job site. He ensures that safety rules are always followed on the site and develops work schedules based on employee and contractor availability.
