Carlton Edwards of Carlton Edwards Builder & Designer, LLC, began a career in financial services in 1976, eventually serving as a senior vice-president for one of the largest banks in America. All the while he was dreaming of designing and building custom homes. He built his first home in 1983, continuing building as a side profession during his 30-year career in financial services. d from banking in 2006 and relocated to the Tyler area to pursue his life-long desire to build homes as a full time profession. What distinguishes Carlton is his attention to detail and impeccable business ethics. His "down to earth" approach helps to reduce the stress associated with designing and building a new home. Carlton and his wife of 30 years, Deborah, have three grown daughters.

When you are looking for a custom builder, please ask for 3 references that span a few years. You want a builder that has a reputation of being integritable. It goes far beyond building a beautiful home. You want a builder who stays the course after you move in, who answers your calls and takes care of any concerns or questions or warranty.

Spend time talking to your perspective builder. Does he answer your questions thoroughly? You don't want one that seems to rush you through the process. That is a red flag!

It matters that you "fit" with your builder and have a rapport. You will be in relationship with them through the build process and after you've taken possession of your home.

We take great pride in being known as an integritable builder and one whose sub contractors will tell you when they show up on our job site, we are ready for them.

You need the perfect design for your dream home and you need the right builder.
