This morning I’m reaching out to all builders to take time to do better. There is a young man in the hospital having surgery on a arm
Broke in three places, one of the breaks is a compound fracture. His back injuries are going to have to wait till arm is fixed.

This young man fell 2 stories not because of carelessness on his part but because of a discarded piece of lumber in a attic, this board was not up there for any reason other than it just got left there. He could possibly have life long issues just because someone was to lazy to discard one piece of wood and when he stepped down on it covered in insulation it came out from under him and he fell 2 stories.

So if you are a builder please pause a little in each house and look for this hazard it could save someone else from injury or maybe even death.

This did not happen on one of my job-sites I just heard the story from someone I trust and felt it needs to be paid attention to because over the 30 plus years I’ve been doing this I’ve actually seen this sort of thing in jobs and tossed the lumber just because I thought it was untidy never thinking I could be keeping someone safe.

If I could ask homeowners to do one thing it would be to PLEASE give your builder time to check the job, if work is done on Tuesday please wait till at least Wednesday at noon to start in on your concerns. Builders that have jobs in
Multiple cities and counties probably only get to check once a day and start early in the day so take a deep breath and just wait till the next day if you go every afternoon. If your builder starts their day at 3 am and you are blowing them up after 5 pm the response you get could be negative for sure. And yes I am referring to myself and my desire to bite. I have been building since 98 and between Pinterest and Google experts well I may need rabies shots😊. Have a great evening everyone.

Something I think homeowner’s really need to realized-some of your subcontractors actually get paid by the hour and are more than happy to stand around and talk to you all day but be ready for the bill when it comes in.😊

Hello to all Salt Creek friends, family, and customers!

As many of you know, in 2020 I made a slight shift from building solely for Salt Creek to Project Managing for DFW Custom Homes. While Salt Creek is still open and my passion, it has taken a backseat for a while.

As we usher in 2026, many exciting things are becoming closer and closer! I’ve decided it is time to start promoting building through Salt Creek again. My husband has moved closer to retirement, which means in a few short years I will be providing my building services in Pagosa Springs, Co., where we will become full time residents!

Good morning all

Time for a little story telling:

Yesterday on site was completely crazy trying to get house ready for move in after so much rain in the last month. Onsite working we had

Septic guys, final grade guys, cleaning crew, electricians and city inspector that’s been very nice to work with me. So to say the least I was running around crazy.

Go for porta potty visit and as I’m zipping my jeans back up the door opens up, oh well no fowl as far as I was concerned but the poor guy standing there I’m pretty sure he was scared for life seeing a female project manager zipping up🤣😂🤷‍♀️

Not one of my guys because they would have all laughed it off knowing my personality, this poor guy just happened to stop at my job site to go to Porta potty…note to self always make sure to latch the door

Hope this at least made you smile those who know me busted a gut🤣

Plumbers started trim Friday morning, told them we were pouring driveway Saturday so they probably didn’t even wanna try Saturday work because it was huge circle drive and lots going on. Roll up onsite Monday no plumber there start to Pout, walk into house start looking around while calling plumbers office. Donna answers the phone and I tell her I actually called to whine but instead I just discovered they finished my trim was why they were not there. Damn skippy that’s what I’m talking about, thank you so much Oma’s plumbing for all your hard work. I would mention this is a 7500 sq ft house with 5 bathrooms and 3 kitchens.
