Goodbye summer & hello to the new and improved, Nichols Elementary!

SQP was honored to be apart of the Nichols Elementary renovation project. This project includes an all new MEP package which will provide better indoor air quality and improves the building's energy consumption, along with keeping the kids comfortable throughout the year.
Additionally, interior improvements such as the new Nurses Station, window replacements, ACT ceilings, flooring, and paint have been performed to give the school a fresh new look. Most importantly, the new "Safe Entrance" was installed to give additional security to the students and faculty.

Project was led by Project Manager, Casey Cantrell & Foreman, Tristan Clark. These gentlemen and their team have provided quality work for this school and the community. We're excited to get this project wrapped up so the students and teachers can enjoy their new investments!

SQP has an immediate opening for an experienced Superintendent to support new commercial construction projects in West Virginia.

This is a full-time position with industry leading benefits and highly competitive salary.

Job Requirements:

* 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Project Manager

* Experience with commercial construction projects of $10MM+

* Detail oriented, organized and results driven with a sense of urgency

* Exceptional knowledge of general building code

* Ability to review and explain construction documents including building plans, specifications, RFQs and blueprints with architects, engineers, subcontractors, consultants etc.

* Strong computer and tech skills with project management software experience (ProCore preferred)

All applicants will be kept confidential. This is a full-time position with occasional evening and weekend requirements as well as regional overnight travel as required.

$75-$95k base salary dependent upon experience plus project based performance incentives.

Job Responsibilities:
* Understand and interpret blueprints and building plans for projects
* Responsible for placing and finishing concrete sidewalks, slab on grade and slab on decks using a variety of hand and power tools.
* Set and align the forms that hold the concrete to the desired pitch and depth
* Install reinforcing rebar and mesh wire
* Spread, level, and smooth concrete using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed and float
* Mold expansion joints and edges using proper tools
* Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure surface of the concrete
* Monitor how the wind, heat, or cold affects the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process to ensure a durable, smooth and uniform finish
* Adhere to all city, state and federal regulatory codes

Job Requirements:
* 3+ years Commercial Construction experience as a cement mason or concrete finisher
* Ability to operate some smaller heavy equipment preferred
* Must pass pre-employment drug test and background check
* Ability to stand, walk, kneel, climb, bend stoop, balance, crouch and sit for extended amounts of time
