A Retaining Wall Can Do More Than Hold Back Soil

This retaining wall is doing an important job. When a yard slopes toward a home, heavy rain can send water, soil, and runoff directly toward the foundation. Over time, that can contribute to erosion, standing water, saturated soil, and moisture problems around the house.

A properly designed retaining wall helps reshape the grade and stabilize the hillside so water can be managed before it reaches the foundation. When combined with the right drainage system behind the wall, it can:
