Firefighter Joe R. from Fairfield, CT, also a saw boss for Team Rubicon, on deployment in the Big Bear region of Southern California, post wild fire. Getting it done, and banging wedges with his hot rodded Forest Axe. What a view! I make these axes to work, and be used hard. Daily. Customer pics like this are why I do it. This axe isn’t pretty. It’s meant to be a bruiser in a compact kit. Strike protection, bronze pommel, encased in Total Boat epoxy, topped with a traditional hockey tape grip. Not only is this axe out in the bush on deployment, it responds to fires on a weekly basis in Fairfield. Thanks for your service Joe! And thanks for the pic!

Getting them inside is a big deal around here. There’s a lot of care that goes into your handle, Getting to this point started in 2021 when I quit using boards and kiln dried lumber for handles. It has evolved into a very close relationship with each handle. Sometimes I feel like a farmer. It is indeed a crop, and requires tending, weekly. .com

Let’s follow along this afternoon with Appalachian Axeman Tim G, putting his Timber Pilot in all kinds of Kentucky hardwoods in the hills of Appalachia. This particular axe is about two years in. Massive storm damage on his property has made his property an axe man’s playground. This is real time. Only edited because there was 2 hours of footage. Not edited swings or speed increases. Just one frame of slow motion. If you are interested in watching a highly proficient axe man process entire trees, in the woods, run not only my axes, many others, with side by side comparisons, check him out on YouTube Appalachian Axeman. Straight talk, zero schtick. .com
