👨‍🏫 Legacy Garage Door History Lesson

Let's take a moment to admire how much the garage door has changed and advanced over the years!

The one-piece wooden door was introduced in the early 1900's and the one-piece door became popular in the 1950's and 1960's. They were practical, yet bulky, heavy, and sometimes difficult to operate manually.

Today, we removed a damaged one-piece steel door, upgrading this client to a modern-day door with a new motor. A lot of times you have to reframe the garage just to get a sectional door to fit properly, but it is well worth the convenience in the end.

Do you have an old one-piece that is no longer standing the test of time?

🥳 Here we have a great update with a fresh motor install.

The door is a 16x7 Insulated steel back bourbon oak long panel with windows.

Motor is a LiftMaster, model 87504, with LED lighting, battery backup, digital wall station with built-in camera, and smart phone controls/capabilities. Going from having no motor to having something with all these features will make for a great garage experience!

Need a free estimate? We do it all! Rentals, new build construction, commercial, complexes, etc! We will travel, if you need us. Give us a call! 586-464-7149

Yesterday we had the whole crew together for this beautiful install in Algonac right by the water.

Here we have an 18x8 ft and 9x8 ft with 32 inch tracks. This is a urethane door with the highest R-factor with insulated tempered glass in Dark Oak.

What an upgrade and such a beautiful October day!

👀 While on a service call for a broken spring, we noticed that the previous garage door company did not install a cross brace (kicker) when they mounted the motor. This could have resulted in the motor falling over time or improper operation of the motor.

👍 We've got you covered, especially when it comes to your safety! Would you like an inspection? Give us a call! 586-464-7149
