Here in the STL area (Richmond Heights, Creve Coeur, Kirkwood, Chesterfield, etc.), our heavy clay soils, freeze-thaw cycles, and occasional flooding demand thick, properly reinforced concrete. Standard 8” footings won’t always cut it — many local projects need 10”, 12”, or even thicker footings with plenty of rebar and the right mix to handle our ground movement.
