If your kitchen sink is on the outside wall open your cabinet under the sink. This will allow heat to get in there. Three jobs today and all three were frozen kitchen sink drains. Water shouldn't be sitting in the drain but if there is grease and sludge build up, that will freeze and create an issue.

Some of the findings of a drain tech. Roots, grease and wipes are the usual suspects. If you have an outside cleanout make sure it is properly covered and secured. Yard debris, trash and bricks can easily fall down into it and create a clog.

As a drain professional pulling roots out of a drain is a common occurrence. Pulling roots out after a big Rooter company "cleaned" the drain two weeks prior is sadly also a common occurrence.
