🐝 THEY’LL BUILD A NEST JUST ABOUT ANYWHERE! 🐝
We responded to a call for wasps nesting inside an exterior exhaust fan. Once the cover was opened, we found a sizable paper nest tucked inside the housing. 😳
Exhaust fans, vents, soffits, and other openings around your home can provide the perfect protected location for wasps to build.
🛑 How can you help prevent this?
• Make sure exterior vent covers are intact and properly secured
• Use properly fitted vent screens where appropriate
• Repair damaged or missing vent flaps
• Keep gaps around exterior penetrations sealed
• Inspect vents and exhaust fans regularly during wasp season
• Don’t ignore small amounts of wasp activity around an opening—it can be an early warning sign
A little prevention can go a long way toward keeping a small nest from becoming a BIG problem.
