Mausoleum comes from “place of (King) Mausolus”. Located in modern day Turkey, it was one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world.

Notice how the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis is designed in similar fashion.

This terraced roof design really “takes it to the next level”!

Tattoo hath been administered depicting the Little Family tartan symbol from Scotland.

The Concedo Nulli means “concede to no one”.

The mausoleum at Edinburgh is in a cemetery where the real Tom Riddle was buried as well as a McGonagal family for a spooky Harry Potter connection.

Physical stack to get the roof on:

Flat roof leaks are particularly urgent due to the lack of help from gravity. Coordinating this job was like a strongman contest, cleaning these rolls to the shoulder and running them from the alley.

Then the tallest ladder I have ever climbed to document the 4-layer tear off; these progress photos ensure that insurance compensates adequately.

Wind damage here may have been accentuated by the house facing north- the wind snuck under the folds of the previous roof, for the slope overlaps from front to back.

Nedim and I are grateful to everyone who has supported us. This week we were invited to inspect a National Register of Historic Places house in addition to the other Central West End jobs we have going.

We also completed a commercial roof for a dog daycare in Wildwood Missouri.

1935 House, born the same year as my grandpa whose 90th birthday is next week.

Great example of The Georgian Revival Style. The original Georgian style would be from 1714-1830, named for four British Monarchs named George

This one required versatility with copper you see on the chimneys and rounded wood fascia on a bay window.

Back in the day they may have steamed the wood to create the bend, we worked on it with a flexible PVC trim.

St. Louis Strong

Tornado devastation in historic areas of St. Louis has been heart-breaking. My roofing company Presidential Construction is based in the Central West End, and we were there when the storm occurred.

Thousands of historic homes and buildings, which were already a challenge to maintain, have been nearly or completely destroyed.
Looking back very differently at the time I've invested driving and walking to view the homes and learn their styles.

Many of us aspire to travel and see the magnificence humans have built around the world. May this storm be a chance to realize what was in front of us all along.

Take a moment to appreciate where you're from, and everywhere you go. The inspiration it takes to build, and the hard work to maintain.

Please keep St. Louis Missouri in your prayers as we walk the long path ahead.

Honored to build for the sponsor of the Curtis Kenner scholarship I was given in Highschool for being a career-oriented student.

Notice the crisp top ridges- a high profile ridge vent which draws air from the attic through the Bernoulli effect, comparable to an airplane wing.

"Little Italy": The Hill Neighborhood of St. Louis:

Fourth generation resident takes great pride in his family's 1908 piece of history.

The sorrowful style of Mary statue has Italian origins and is called Pietà (Piety). He is working on restoring this one which his grandfather handcrafted!

Color selection was Williamsburg Gray, which would go on to be named Owens Corning 2024 Color of the Year a few months later.

Old-school project but still thinking a step ahead!!

Birthday tribute and sincere thank you to God's servant Kyle Armstrong: "You are Building History"

3.5 years working with Kyle and the journey has been so strong that I call it my roofing apprenticeship. The biggest thing he taught me was about carrying the toolbox and leaving the roof better than you found it.

My proudest accomplishment so far with Kyle is completing roofs at the Reinhold Flooring buildings on Telegraph Rd. and the Realty Executives office building on Tesson Ferry.

Kyle and Kyle Austin Sedlacek founded KPro at age 24 and steadily grew to employing over a dozen people and supporting many other livelihoods.

I have seen him change a customer's life several times.

Hiring his dad Rick as the in-house carpenter is the coolest small business story I know.

The level of responsibility and physical exertion he takes on is substantial and deserves to be recognized!

Crisp Finishes: Valley metals on a low slope can prevent leaks in the location where the most water flows.

The second photo shows the roof accessories of a Crestwood ranch- between furnace stacks, electrical service entry, ceiling fan vents, plumbing vents, and kitchen range hoods, everything gets addressed.
