Did you know your mini-split has a filter?

Keep your system running at its best by keeping those filters clean.

How often should you clean it?
Clean your filters every 2–4 weeks during heavy use (or about once a month under normal conditions).

Why it matters:
• Better airflow = stronger heating and cooling
• Lower energy usage = lower electric bills
• Cleaner air in your space
• Helps prevent unnecessary service calls

Quick how-to:

Turn the unit off
Open the front panel
Remove the filters
Rinse with water (no harsh chemicals)
Let them dry completely
Reinstall and close it up

It takes just a few minutes but makes a big difference.

If your system isn’t keeping up, a dirty filter is the first place to check.

110V vs 220V… what’s the difference?

If you’re looking at mini splits, you’ve probably seen both.

Here’s the simple breakdown:

110V
• Uses standard 110V power already common in most homes
• Typically easier install (no major electrical changes)
• Best for smaller spaces

220V
• Runs on a dedicated breaker
• More efficient
• Better performance for heating & cooling
• May require an electrician if a 220V line isn’t already available

Inverter vs Non-Inverter Mini-Splits — What’s the Difference?

One question we get pretty often is what an inverter mini-split actually means.

The difference really comes down to how the system runs.

A non-inverter system works more like a traditional air conditioner. It turns on at full power, cools the space, then shuts off once the temperature is reached. Then the cycle repeats.

These systems are:

• very affordable
• simple and reliable
• still much more efficient than a traditional window unit

They’re a great economical option if you’re working within a tighter budget.

An inverter system works a little differently.

Instead of constantly turning on and off, it adjusts its speed to maintain the temperature. Think of it like cruise control in a vehicle. Once the room reaches the set temperature, the system slows down and just maintains it.

Benefits of inverter systems include:

• lower energy use
• quieter operation
• more consistent temperatures

Over time, the energy savings often pay for the upgrade.

Our 12K systems are available with or without an inverter, while all of our larger units come with inverter technology.

We usually recommend going with an inverter system when possible, but our non-inverter units are still a solid, budget-friendly option and will outperform a traditional window AC unit.

One of the biggest mistakes people make with mini-splits is choosing the wrong size unit.

Bigger isn’t always better.

If a system is too small, it will run constantly and struggle to keep up.

If a system is too large, it can short cycle, which reduces efficiency and comfort.

A good starting guideline looks like this:

• 12k BTU → up to ~600 sq ft
• 18k BTU → up to ~900 sq ft
• 24k BTU → up to ~1,200 sq ft
• 36k BTU → up to ~1,500 sq ft

But square footage isn’t the only factor.

Things that also matter include:

• ceiling height
• insulation quality
• number of windows
• sun exposure
• how the space is used (garage vs bedroom)

That’s why properly sizing a system matters.

The right unit keeps your space comfortable without wasting energy or money.

If you’ve ever tried working in your garage in July…
you know the struggle.

It starts out as a “quick project”
and 15 minutes later you're standing there sweating like you just ran a marathon.

Most garages were never designed to stay comfortable.

That’s why mini-splits are so popular for:

• garages
• pole barns
• workshops
• home gyms

Quiet. Efficient. No ductwork needed.

Who in your life needs this in their garage?

Mini-Split Myth:
“They only work for cooling.”

Reality:

Our mini-split systems are heat pumps, meaning they both heat and cool your space.

They don’t just work in summer — our systems can heat efficiently even when outdoor temperatures drop below freezing.

One system.
Year-round comfort.

If you’ve ever put a window AC in a bedroom…

you’ve already experienced the problem mini-splits solve.

Window units are loud, inefficient, and block the window.

A mini-split does the same job but:

• quieter
• more efficient
• permanently installed

Same idea. Much better system.

Ever heard someone say “mini-split” and wondered what that actually means?

A mini-split is a ductless heating and cooling system made up of two parts:
• an outdoor condenser
• an indoor wall unit (the head)

Instead of pushing air through ductwork like central HVAC, it conditions the room directly.

That makes them perfect for:
• older homes without ducts
• room additions
• garages or workshops
• bonus rooms that never stay comfortable

Small system. Big difference.
