Lead Through Uncertainty. Build for the Future.

Economic slowdowns test more than financial strength—they test leadership. During periods of uncertainty, inflation, labor shortages, margin compression, and shifting customer demand, organizations look to leadership for clarity, confidence, stability, and direction.

Join us at the ASCC Concrete Executive Leadership Forum (CELF) and hear from featured speaker Dr. Rick Goodman, one of the most sought-after keynote speakers in corporate America and the global association market. His clients include AT&T, Boeing, Heineken, the U.S. Department of Defense, Fortune 500 healthcare systems, and government agencies across four continents. Dr. Goodman has inspired audiences ranging from small executive teams to conference audiences of more than 10,000 attendees.

But CELF is more than a conference.

It is a unique opportunity for ASCC leaders, contractors, manufacturers, and industry professionals to come together in a relaxed and engaging environment to strengthen relationships, exchange ideas, discuss industry challenges, and explore the future of concrete construction leadership.

Whether you're navigating today's economic realities or preparing for tomorrow's opportunities, CELF delivers the insights, connections, and leadership strategies needed to move your organization forward.

Join us this July at the Hyatt Chesapeake Bay Resort and invest in your leadership, your business, and the future of our industry. Register today ➡️ https://ascconlineinfo.org/event/ascc-concrete-executive-leadership-forum-celf-july-16-19/.

Heat Stress Awareness – Summer Is Here! As temperatures continue to rise across the country, now is the time for contractors, supervisors, and crews to refocus on heat illness prevention and awareness. Heat illness can escalate quickly and impact even experienced workers, especially during the early summer months when the body is still acclimating.

Key reminders for crews and supervisors:
• Encourage frequent hydration throughout the day, not just during breaks
• Monitor new workers and those returning after time away more closely
• Utilize shaded or cooled recovery areas whenever possible
• Watch for signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke early
• Encourage workers to speak up if they begin feeling symptoms
• Remember that PPE, humidity, direct sun exposure, and physically demanding work all increase risk

A strong heat illness prevention plan protects more than productivity, it can save a life!

The 2026 ASCC Safety Awards Program Is Live!

ASCC is once again partnering with FactorLab to support members submitting applications for the 2026 Safety Awards Program (based on 2025 safety records).

FactorLab’s SmartTagIt platform helps streamline the submission process while giving members a more flexible way to showcase their safety programs. The goal of the program is not just to collect information, but to give companies the opportunity to share how safety is being planned, discussed, and reinforced across their organizations.

As with last year’s program, applicants may include video submissions alongside written responses. This can be a powerful way to capture perspectives from across the organization—from field crews and supervisors to safety leaders and executives—and highlight how safety values are understood and lived on jobsites every day. Whether simple handheld conversations or more structured examples, these submissions help bring each company’s safety story to life.

This year’s program will also introduce a new Mental Health Advocacy Award, recognizing companies advancing mental health awareness, su***de prevention, and worker well-being across the industry.

Members who participated last year can log back into SmartTagIt using their existing credentials. New participants can register to create an application portal and begin preparing their submissions at https://factorlab33500.activehosted.com/f/11.

Take the next step. Engage your team. Share your work. Benchmark your performance. Lead on safety.

Construction continues to face real challenges around stress, fatigue, and mental health.

Creating a culture where people feel supported and comfortable speaking up can make a lasting impact.

This week, consider:
âś…Checking in with your crew, beyond the task at hand
âś…Promoting available resources
âś…Reinforcing that looking out for each other goes beyond physical safety

A strong safety culture takes care of the whole worker, not just the work.
