CAR THEFT CREWS IN LAKE ST LOUIS.

I wanted to share this article from Ring Neighbors. Thieves are using sophisticated technologies to steal cars.

VEHICLES BEING BROKEN IN TO. ...

Sharing a friend’s post:

Be careful if you have a push to start vehicle— footage from a house on my street.

Some information you may find helpful.....

Hello fellow Lake St Louis residents. I know everyone is concerned and will be cautious now that our subdivisions has been hit with a group of individuals that haven't been taught good values.

Any of you that caught videos or that have been victims, saw individuals that were wearing hip sack over their shoulder and another person on standby to jump in and go if they get the car open and started.

From my background in Cyber Security, the individuals appeared to had a RFI Repeater device to clone the cars key fob and access the vehicle. While said device (RFI Repeater) is being used, it can interfere with certain technologies such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and some other types of technologies that I don't need to go into here. These devices search for the right frequency starting in the 0 MHz range and shoot up through the GHz range. (Hence my comments in the next paragraph.) Most American key fobs are in the 3.15 MHz +/- 2.5 MHz range and some European cars in the 433.92 MHz range.

I have read some comments where some have said that there cameras went off line or were "jammed". If you check your Wi-Fi router log around the time the camera was off-line, see if your router was too. Some older routers are susceptible to jamming when attacked with RFI frequencies. If your Wi-Fi did not go done, then I would look into you camera devices. How old are they? If they are older than 2019, chances are they are susceptible to being jammed.

What can you do to keep your key fob and car safe? Lock your doors for one. Buy a RFI Pouch for your key fob. Put your key fob in the microwave but don't forget that you put it in there. Store the key fob in a metal box, and ladies when buying a purse, make sure it is lined with the RFI blocking material.

I feel the pain and anger of those affected. Luckily, my vehicle was not penetrated by these thieves even though they tried. Nor did my cameras or Wi-Fi get jammed. I also understand the concern of the residents here in Lake St Louis & surrounding areas. We have been violated and our vigilance will now be higher than it has ever been.

Hello everyone,

Its been a while since I have posted. I tried condensing on my latest business card to public service messages. They are hard to read without a magnifying glass. This one is one that most people don't realize is probably going on under our noses. I wanted to share this with you.
