Mike walked outside, stood right next to this brand new system, and kept right on talking.

That is the part most St. Louis homeowners do not expect.

This is a 17 SEER American Standard system we just installed, and it runs quiet enough that you forget it is on. The higher efficiency means it is not straining to keep up when we hit those sticky 95 degree afternoons either.

Quieter operation. Lower energy use. More even cooling through the whole house.

If your current AC sounds like a jet every time it kicks on, it might be time to talk options.

When the temperature crosses 100°F in St. Louis 🌡️ we get the same call all week:

"My AC is running and the house won't cool to 72."

Quick reality check: most home AC systems are sized for a "design temperature" of around 95°F. That is what the math is built around.

When the outside temperature jumps to 100°+, the system can usually only hold a 20° to 22° difference between outside and inside. That puts your house at 78° to 80°, even with a perfectly healthy unit.

Your AC is not broken. The math just changed.

Couple of things you can do on extreme heat days:
1 - Close blinds on south and west windows.
2 - Avoid using the oven or running the dryer in the afternoon.
3 - Set the thermostat realistically. Don't ask the system to chase a temp it can't hit.

If your house is not within ~22° of the outside temp, then we have something to look at. Book online: meyerair.com/?spdirect=y0fvjgb01u

Your AC has two jobs in St. Louis 💧 Cool the air. Pull the humidity out.
When humidity wins, the house feels worse than the thermostat says it should.

Three signs humidity is beating your AC right now:
1️⃣ Air feels sticky even when it is cool.
2️⃣ Windows fog up.
3️⃣ AC runs almost constantly but the house never feels comfortable.

A spring tune-up checks both jobs, not just the cooling side. Catch the fix before June makes it obvious.

Our team members are all from the area and we know how important that is when choosing a company! Real people from your community! 🙌🏼

Let us know where you went to high school! Did you go to the same schools our team went to?

Quick myth bust 🚫 for any St. Louis homeowner trying to save on the AC bill this summer.
Closing vents in rooms you do not use does NOT save you energy.
Here is what actually happens:
Your blower is sized for the whole duct system. When you close vents, you do not reduce the air it pushes. You just force that same air through fewer openings, which raises the pressure inside the ductwork.
Higher pressure means three things:

The blower works harder. Higher electric bill, not lower.
Air leaks at duct seams that were never meant to handle that pressure.
Some rooms get over-cooled while others stay warm.

If specific rooms are too hot or too cold, the fix is balancing the system or zoning. Not closing the vents.

Not technically summer yet, but the forecast says we're in for several days above 85° in St. Louis.

If you have not had your AC tuned up yet this season, this is the week to get on the schedule. The longer you wait, the longer you sit in the queue when something goes sideways during a heat wave.

A quick $155 Clean & Check now beats a frantic call later.
