Poole Anderson Construction was formed in 1999 by the merger of two commercial construction companies, L.C. Anderson & Sons and S&A Commercial Construction. Anderson & Sons brought a long history and excellent reputation for providing construction services in the educational, medical, industrial and

institutional markets while S&A Commercial focused on commercial and multi-family housing construction. The merger brought together diverse talents to successfully manage and build many types of commercial construction. Over the last few years, Poole Anderson Construction has taken tremendous strides on implementing Lean Practices throughout our organization. We’ve seen tremendous impacts across all of our projects using some of the techniques of Lean, particularly with the Last Planner System. We are not experts, but we are continuing to learn and improve every day. Last week, we had the opportunity to share LCI’s Last Planner Training Module with the Pennsylvania College of Technology Construction Students to give them exposure to this powerful technique on managing construction schedules. A major milestone was reached at Happy Valley Casino.

After more than a year of coordination, procurement, and fabrication, the project’s 2500 kW generator has been delivered and set in place. Originally ordered in February 2025, the generator engine was manufactured in Lafayette, Indiana, then transported to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where it was fitted for its enclosure and fuel tank, then final assembled before making its way to the jobsite.

Like many large-scale, mission-critical components, the process came with challenges, but the team remained focused on delivery and ex*****on. Last Friday, the installation of the nearly 90,000 pound generator took place, marking a significant step towards the project’s completion.

We are proud of the continued effort from our team and trade partners which was instrumental on the project’s success.
