We’re back a year after fixing this retention pond. For this job, we cleared the organics out, installed rip rap, replaced the outlet control structure and filter ring. We also cleared the organics out of the smaller retaining wall pond and installed a new filter ring and retrofit/filter stone!

Here, we have a classic combination of improper installation + lack of compaction during backfill + substandard grout work on the pipe fitment which created this problem. The grout failed first allowing the water to seep out of the structure and begin eroding the loosely placed dirt around the structure causing a big erosion issue and collapsed pipe.
