Guess what day it is? It’s Fun Find Friday!!
An unusual amount of fire ant calls this week. Using the correct bait is crucial in getting full colony elimination. Minutes after putting the bait out, they are already carrying it inside the colony. They feed the bait to the larvae, the larvae chews it up, and the colony eats what they regurgitate. These ants are in their walking dead phase. They will be gone in a few days. If you’re having issues with fire ants, reach out to me. This week got an inspection for wood destroying insects, I know, I do a lot of them. This termite tube was found along a basement door and along the drop ceiling rails in the basement. The question I had was when did they paint last? You can clearly see white paint along the edge of the termite tube. Needless to say, they were able to negotiate a termite treatment from the sellers. Guess what day it is? It’s Fun Find Friday!!
This week I was inspecting a home for wood destroying insects. I had found a few areas where termite evidence was with scrapped tubes and then I found this one. As you can see it two different colors. What this means is that the termite tube was recently damaged. The termites have rebuilt the tube with new dirt. That’s the two colors, old dirt vs new dirt. This tube was active, when I scrapped it, the termites retreated into the upper part of the tubes. This is why I recommend if you’re purchasing a home to get a WDIR inspection. Guess what day it is? It’s a day late Fun Find Friday. I apologize, yesterday was a busy day wrapping up the week and it completely slipped my mind. Anyways, I had a new commercial business start service and their main initial issues were ants and rodents. Their previous company couldn’t figure out why they were experiencing them. Well on the inspection, I checked all of the equipment inside and outside and this is what I found. This is a rodent bait station, filled to the brim with an ant colony. The rodent were here because the boxes weren’t maintained, the ants were here because the boxes weren’t maintained. It’s about being consistent and actually doing the job you say you’re going to do. Needless to say, this customer got all new equipment and their issues resolved. If you’re not sure what your current company is doing to service your home or business, 5 minute services with not good results, I’d love to help you out. I can’t believe it!!! Today marks ONE YEAR since I started Foothills Pest Solutions!

It’s hard to put into words what a whirlwind this past year has been. When I started this business, I had a vision of building something of my own and serving the community I call home. I never could have imagined everything that would happen in just one year.

So many of you have trusted me with your homes, your businesses, and your families, and I am truly grateful for every single one of you. Every phone call, every referral, every review, every recommendation, and every time you chose to call Foothills means more to me than you probably realize.

Thank you for supporting a small, local business and for allowing me to do what I love every day. I’m excited to see what the next year brings!

One year down… and just getting started.

Today, I’m carrying in from last week a clip from my bed bug treatment last week. This is a heavy infestation. Bed bugs usually hand around the bed, mattress, frame, night stands. When there is an over population they will start to spread to other areas of the room. In this situation, curtains, walls, ceilings, behind picture frames, shelving, etc. Don’t let a situation get out of control. Please reach out. There is no shame here.
