Creating Peace & Quiet, One Layer at a Time: A Soundproof Media Room Build✨🌟

We recently completed a custom soundproofing installation for a media room tucked under a master bedroom. Our goal? To give the owners a place to watch movies, enjoy music, or catch up on shows without disturbing the peace above them.

Here’s a quick breakdown of how we made it happen:

🌟First Layer of Defense:
We started with Rockwool Safe N' Sound batt insulation applied to the underside of the subfloor, offering effective sound absorption right out of the gate.

🌟Next Up:
For the remaining cavity, we used Blown In Blanket (BIBS) fiberglass insulation—an efficient way to fill gaps and further reduce sound transmission.

🌟Decoupling for Maximum Sound Control:
One of the key steps was decoupling the drywall from the framing using the ClarkDietrich Sound Clip System. This creates a barrier that keeps noise from traveling through structural elements, ensuring minimal sound bleed into the room above.

🌟Finishing Touches:
We capped it all off with Pabco Quiet Rock drywall—a high-performance, sound-dampening material designed to keep noise in its place.

🌟Special Feature:
For the in-ceiling speakers, we incorporated Sonance soundproof speaker boxes along with "green glue" to further isolate the speakers and enhance audio quality without any unwanted vibrations or sound leaks.

Now the owners can enjoy their media room while the kids are downstairs binge-watching the latest Star Wars saga—without a single complaint about the noise!
