Called out for a failing sump pump, arrived & discovered a few things wrong with this system.

Check valve had failed, pump was failing & the previous installer used foamcore instead of pressure piping. Also, they ran the line down to the floor & then dumped it into the crock, which made it non accessible.

We cut out all of the foamcore piping that was accessible & ran new 1½ schedule 40 pressure pipe. Installed a new Zoeller check valve & sump pump to get this client back up running w/ no issues.

Don’t wait for the storms to come & cause a flood in your basement. If your sump pumps over 10 years old. I’d recommend atleast getting it checked out to ensure it’s still working properly.

A scorching day in VA today 🥵 but we got to install this work of art.

Started out w/ a failed water heater, PRV & wash machine valves.
Homeowner opted to relocate there main house shut & we also moved there outdoor faucet shut off.

Started fresh by cutting the rats nest above the heater out, relocating the main and install a new 1/4 turn ball valve & PRV then tied back into the house feed lines.
Next, we went and re-routed the wash machine lines to keep everything uniform, installed (2) new boiler drains into drop ear 90’s for easy replacement in the future, and lastly installed a new shut off & line feeding the out door faucet.

Once that was completed, went ahead & installed a new 50 Gal electric tank unit, new pan, expansion tank & shut off valve.

Call from a new client this evening. Botched drywall job cut open & leaking wall hydrant removed & a new Woodford frost free wall hydrant installed.

Instead of patching the drywall, homeowner opted for an access panel since this was in a closet.

With the warm weather here, and the frigid winter temps we had. be sure to check all of your outdoor faucets for burst line’s when turning them back on!

Back in 2023 a homeowner reached out due to an astronomical water bill.

After talking & running some test, we had found the line burst underground. After speaking with the homeowner more she’d mentioned (2) of her neighbors had there line replaced within the last few years also.

This one was tricky, line was 30” deep at the meter. And by the time it got to the foundation it was about 15’ and ran another 20’ or so underneath the basement slab to the utility room in the middle of the house.
Homeowner wanted copper installed. So we abandoned the existing line & started fresh. We dug a trench 40” deep from the meter to the house, core drilled the wall to avoid opening the concrete floor and lastly opened the drywall up in the basement spare room from where we drilled, to the utility room.

We ran new 1” Soft tubing from the meter & once inside we switched over to 3/4” hard copper, went through each stud & down the wall to the utility room.

We installed split ring hangers to mount the new water service to the wall in the utility room. Homeowners opted to replace everything, so we installed a new PRV, and (2) new shut off’s to the outdoor faucets.

Had a friend reach out for a leak in the ceiling & asked me to stop by & check it out, they believe there toilet had a leak but after looking everything over. We determined the shower door seals had failed.

We went ahead & cut out all the damaged drywall in the ceiling below, installed a fresh sheet of drywall. Mudded & sanded, then painted the affected area.

Lastly we went ahead & removed the old door & replaced it with a new Kohler pivot shower door.

Water fountain removal for a client in Ashburn today.

After pulling the cover we discovered the outlet was just inside of the bottom of the fountain & not fixed to the wall, so the client decided to go ahead & abandon the outlet. We had an electrician go inside the panel & disconnect the wires from the breaker & cap them off, and capped the lines that where in the wall off also incase later on they decided to add an outlet in that location later on.

Then we capped the 1 ½ waste line in the studs, and soldered a cap on the ½” water line that used to feed the fountain.

We cut the drywall out square & put a new piece in so it was ready to be patched when the clients ready!

A good friend of mine Erick w/ Nester Enterprise called & needed some plumbing reconnected on a kitchen cabinet project he’s wrapping up over in Ashburn.

The previous plumber did some “funky” work, so we went & cleaned it up as best as I could.

First we re-did the hot feed line. we installed a tee & faced it towards the rear of the cabinet to run a copper line & install a 1/4 turn valve for the dishwasher, came out of the top of the tee w/ a new angle stop to feed the faucet.

Next, we moved over to the cold line that feeds the faucet & there outdoor faucet. So, we also added a tee, installed a 1/4 turn ball valve (for winterizing) and re-connect it to the existing line running to the hosebib. Went back to the tee & installed another angle stop to supply the faucet.

Sadly, these pipes had sharkbite fittings in the ceiling below the cabinet. So they were loose & crooked. I worked w/ what I had & took some “Mickey mouse” clamps and used them to straighten & brace the (3) the lines coming through the cabinet & added (2) bell hangers in the back of the cabinet to support the dishwasher feed line. holes where already that size, so plan is to order the “jumbo style” escutcheon’s to cover the clamps/ holes up.

We just reconnected the existing disposal, trap etc. but instead of using a coupling I decided to install a test tee w/ a plug so if later in the future the line needs to be snaked, it will make it easier on the next guy!

Also, while we where there the homeowners where having issues w/ the house main shut off & out door faucet, they wouldn’t fully close & water was still coming out of fixtures while closed. And they also wanted to replace the outdoor faucet w/ a “frost free” wall hydrant.

Went ahead & shut the city curb-stop off to there main, cut out the existing gate valve & installed a 1/4 turn ball valve, cut out the existing outdoor faucet gate valve & installed another 1/4 turn ball valve. Lastly, we cut out the existing out door faucet which was just a standard “boiler drain” which isn’t code in VA & installed a 6” Woodford Model 19 frost free wall hydrant.

We only use the best products, and try to leave the finished product better looking than what we arrived too.

Shout out to Viega LLC for making a quality product we used there fittings & ball valves on this & all off my jobs !

And also shout out to Woodford Manufacturing Company for having the best wall hydrants in the game, IYKYK.. model 19’s are the best FF hosebib on the market !
