This month, we had the pleasure of revisiting a 2017 project in Oakton, VA. Edgehill Estate is a stunning residence sitting on 11 meticulously landscaped acres. Featuring a pool, spa, tennis court, multiple water and fire features- all surrounded by lush landscaping that blooms year round. Happy World Honey Bee Day!

Today we celebrate the over 20,000 honey bee species in the world. According to the USDA, 3/4 of the world’s flowering plants and about 35% of the world’s food crops depend on animal pollinators to reproduce. Honeybees are the most efficient of them all and are essential to the health and prosperity of countless ecosystems. Due to a range of factors, more than half of North America's 4,000 native bee species are in decline.

What can you do to help?

Creating a pollinator habitat is the easiest way to support these precious pollinators. Planting heirloom plants and herbs like rosemary, basil, and oregano in your garden along with colorful flowers like Lavender, Rudbeckia, and Agastache can beautify your home and increase biodiversity.

Nestled in the heart of Vienna is one of our favorite sports-court transformations to date. A family wanted more fun in the sun on their backyard estate, and Fine Landscapes delivered!

This project features a 30x45 court built for play, from basketball to pickleball. With a net adjustment system, crisp game lines, and a 10ft soft fence for smart ball containment. River stone gravel frames the court and flows into a welcoming play area. Expertly placed lighting extends pick-up games into the evening where a cozy fire pit adds to the viewing experience.
