Today marks 32 years without alcohol!!! 🙏
One of my granddaughters, Luna, lost her other grandfather on this day.
He was a great man—a father, a husband, and yes, a grandfather to Luna. ❤️ Forever this day will be bitter-sweet for me and all whom he’s touched, I just hope he is proud seeing the effort I have made to be present in her life.
Today, I’m reflecting on what 32 years of being alcohol-free means to me.
Back in 1994, I made a decision that changed the direction of my life forever. At the time, I could not have known all the blessings and experiences that decision would eventually bring.
One of the greatest honors of my life is being a grandfather.
The gratitude I have for being alcohol-free is immense. The ability to be present, to make memories, to be there for my family, and to have the honor of being a grandfather—all of it is connected to that decision I made back in 1994.
And I have to recognize the people who have supported me along the way. There are so many people in my life who have helped me, encouraged me, loved me, or simply been there—and some of you probably don’t even realize what your support has meant to me.
But I do.
So today, I say thank you. ❤️
Most importantly, God first has been my everyday choice. Putting God first has proven to be the ultimate best decision for me. It hasn’t meant that life has always been easy. Quite the opposite.
This past year has brought some real-world, life-altering challenges. There have been moments that have tested me, stretched me, and reminded me that I don’t control everything.
But God, man!!! 🙏
Through it all, I’m still here. Still sober. Still grateful. Still learning. Still growing. Still surrounded by people I love.
32 years.
Not just 32 years without alcohol—but 32 years of being present for life.
And for that, I am incredibly, incredibly grateful.
God is good. 🙏❤️
