Hostas dug up right in front of you! Packaged to take home and get directly into your garden. All at least 3 year old Hostas that have enjoyed the lovely open WI weather.

Tomorrow is the opening day finally!

Will be opening the shop up for people that want to just pick up and go or those worried about guaranteeing a Hosta is still going to be available when you can stop down to shop in person.

It’s Construction Season Again!

For those that don’t travel frequently in the South Lacrosse area we have some fun construction at the merge area of Hwy 14/61S and Hwy 35S heading towards Goose Island. Single lanes as you come out of LaCrosse.

Also rumor has it that there is a detour at Genoa again this year so there is no getting to Stoddard and LaCrosse via Genoa.

Just wanting to let everyone know what they are going to encounter heading to our place this year.

Hi everyone!

Time for an update finally from us about when opening weekend IS going to happen.

With Mother Nature being so fickle this year we haven’t been able to actually figure out when we could open.

We are tentatively looking at the first weekend of June as long as the warm weather keeps helping the Hostas finally start to pop up. Going to be looking over the selling beds this weekend to make sure everything is going good and will make the official decision this weekend!

Online shop is not fully updated so will be tackling that as well to get everything listed ahead of time for those that just want to pick up and go this year.

Hello everyone - we have hit February already. Groundhog’s Day is coming up so we will see what the predictions will be.
Sorry haven’t been updating the shop - have to say the winter blahs have taken over but the dream of spring is starting to wake me up. Going to try and start adding more to the shop so that everyone has a chance to see this years Hostas for sale.
Keep those fingers crossed for an early spring with some decent rain and sun to get the Hostas growing nice before Memorial Weekend’s open house!

2022 Selling bed is done! Well minus the small spot where we are going to put some ground cover to sell next year.

I will be updating the shop as I get through the entire list and will try to use as many of our display Hostas for the image. With late season uglies might have to use images from Hosta Library to show in the shop so you know that proper look for a mature plant.

So next year we will have a new option for shopping. For those who prefer to just pick up and go we will have the option to purchase your Hostas from the “Shop” section on the page and plan your pick up date. I am updating constantly as we are working with our choices for next years selling plants. So those that asked last year for a selling list can now look at the “Shop” page to see the full list prior to our opening weekend next year. All Hostas are going to be listed as “temporarily unavailable” until we get closer to opening weekend.

At this time we haven’t decide if we will offer the option of paying for shipping or if it will be straight pick up only.

The shop will have the full list of Hostas that will be available for the 2022 season. Most pictures of the mature plants will be from our display beds but some will contain extra pictures for the Hosta Library website. We are only just photographing the Hostas now and some have suffered from the summer weather.

Our Story

My father started collecting hostas over 30 years ago. My parents visited nurseries all over the state buying new hostas for their collection. Once retired they started to enjoy taking drives out of state more often and on these adventures they visited more hosta nurseries.

As my fathers collection grew he started thinking about selling his hostas to the public. His biggest problem was that his time was split between quality time with his grandsons, enjoying retirement travel and his gardens. 2014 came along and so did their fourth grandchild, my daughter Shea. My husband and I decided it was best for us that I stayed home to raise our daughter. After the first year my dad approached me with his idea about starting to sell hostas since I was home. He talked about how it would be a family business that could eventually be passed on to my daughter. Well at first it was just that brief mention and nothing more was discussed.

June 2016 came and he wanted to try to do a trial selling weekend. With lack of preparation we only had a few visitors much to the disappointment of my father. I wasn’t discouraged and saw the true possibility.

March 2017 - I decided this was the year to really give the selling a try so I started planning. I told my parents and husband we were going to sell on Memorial Weekend only. All of us pitched in to get plants potted, signs made, advertisement posted and stands ready. We had a great experience and the decision was made that in 2018 we would do the hostas as a business open for more days and more weeks. After selling we went out and added more varieties to my parents yard.
