Existing stair that was upgraded to metal balusters. Existing wood balusters were removed and rails temporarily supported. All oak was stripped and refinished by the painter then new metal balusters installed. Basement to second floor plus a third floor balcony.

Contemporary stair using all red oak. "Newels" and hand rails are 2" x 6". Hand rails were milled for a graspable profile.
Horizontal slats were 1" x 3". Risers were canted 5 degrees to give 1 1/4" overhang of the tread.

Entire stair made from quarter sawn white oak. Installed all trim work, doors windows and baseboard (also white oak).
